Did you buy a didgeridoo
or get one as a gift for your Birthday or for Christmas? Did a relative bring one back for
you from their trip to Australia? Have you learned how to play it or has it become
just another curious piece of art work sitting in the corner of your living room,
collecting dust?
Maybe you've tried learning how to play it but only got so far and then got frustrated and
threw it back in a dark closet and thought, "Out of sight, out of mind! I can't
do this!" Well, I want you to know that I understand. All too well! I did that
myself. But I couldn't get the sound out of my head. It kept calling my name.
Finally, after months in the
closet, I reluctantly freed my didgeridoo from its dark prison
and started to learn it again. And I'm glad I did. Now I can't put it
down. I play with it every chance I get. I sleep with it, I shower with it. I inhale
my food through it like a straw! Okay, okay. I'm exaggerating a little. I don't use
it like a straw.
For those of you who don't have their own didgeridoo, you can borrow one
of the mini practice didges I have on hand for the class. I'll be covering the basic
drone; animal sounds and other vocalizations; circular breathing; and rhythm. Call or
email to be put on our workshop contact list. Group rates are available if you have
your own group. |
